The Polar Express

Buy-it - The children's book is a better version of this Christmas story, but the animation was groundbreaking at the time, and if you want something to show off that new 3D TV when your family comes to visit these holidays this is probably the best ride.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Rent-it - The animated version of the Grinch is the better of the two (the other being Jim Carrey's live-action version) and is a annual must watch come the holiday season.

Yogi Bear

Skip-it - Whether you are on team Boo-Boo (voiced by Justin Timberlake) or team Yogi (voiced by Dan Aykroyd), the only thing more terrible and disappointing than Yogi Bear in theaters right now is The Tourist (voiced by the most monotonous, boring voice imaginable).

Puss in Boots

Skip-it - It's too bad this isn't a film about Donkey because then I could recommend it for being funny and funny alone, because it certainly isn't that or anything more than a cute cat wearing boots.

Space Jam

Skip-it - This mishmash of animation and live action stars Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Wayne Knight (aka Newman). Unless you are huge fan of one of those 3 "actors" skip-it and rent Roger Rabbit or Cool World instead.

The Lion King (In 3D)

See-it - If you never saw this film about a lion cub prince in theaters (so people under the age of 25), go see this special 3-D edition of one of the best animated films of all time. But try not to cry on those 3-D glasses.

Rio

Rent-it - Rio is an animated tale about a couple Macaws in Minnesota who want to join the flock in Rio de Janeiro, but are, of course, sidetracked along the way - voiced by Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, and Tracy Morgan.

Coraline

Skip-it - This animated stop-motion 3-D horror fantasy film based on Neil Gaiman's 2002 novella of the same name was only worth seeing in 3-D theaters.

Alice in Wonderland

Rent-it - The classic animated version of this film is much better than the recent Tim Burton/Johnny Depp theatrical release, which is scary and weird, instead of strange and fun.
